I think if this group/organization is to continue it needs to have an official constitution outlining membership, leadership, roles, rules, dues, and conferences.
When my donation runs out… I might be done. I do not want to be the leader.
I hope that this group will continue. I agree with Jeffrey that there needs to be a structure developed that defines jobs and responsibilities. The development of a constitution with articles and by-laws should be encouraged. Should this group be governed by a board of directors? Most professional groups that I am a member require dues to be paid. Many members will not voluntarily donate with given the opportunity.
A major concern that I have encountered is that the majority of members that I was to communicate with have not made the transition to sign up as members on the new web site. I sent several e mails to the old roster of members asking them to do so. I am not sure why this was only partially successful.
Jeffrey has done a wonderful job building our website. He has also created our Facebook page.
I welcome feedback on how to encourage member participation and promote SAME.
I agree as seen or read above… if this is such a small group off only 8-20 people. I am not sure this group or organization is or will continue.
If nothing is done such as listed above, I’m done when my donation runs out.
